Kaylie: It's Been A Great Ride!

Hey Hey!

How was everyone’s weekend?  The weather turned out to be gorgeous and boy, were we loving it!  The pool is almost fully opened and I just can’t wait!

My Campaign Crew and I hit the streets over the weekend to spread the word about Young & Free and to rally some support!  It was great to get some first-hand experience of what the Spokesperson position will really be like—and let me say I had a blast!  Now that I spent this last week in full ‘Spokester Kayl’ mode, I don’t want to go back to doing anything else!

Here’s a quick lowdown of my weekend:

FRIDAY: Hit the LaSalle Strawberry Festival where there were way more people than I expected!  They must have known I was going to be there… or maybe it was the Michael Jackson impersonator and the fireworks! Kids (and adults!) were loving the free stuff I was handing out—especially the glow sticks!

SATURDAY: We traveled by foot across my hometown to make sure EVERY Kingsvillian knew about Young & Free, if they didn’t already.  It was mighty sweaty but that didn’t stop us!  We also returned to the Strawberry Fest at night and then to Windsor to catch people as they were leaving the Beaverfest concert.

SUNDAY: Harassed the players in the Leamington Baseball Tournament Finals to VOTE for KAYLIE!  Also took advantage of the nice weather and took a stroll along the Marina in search of youngsters!

And now it gets a little mushy…

All in all, it’s been a truly unforgettable experience—from my application video, to the Mash-Up, to this past Crazy Campaign week!  It’s been busy but it’s been fun!  Shout out to my fellow finalists Mackenna and Brianna, who have done a great job—creative minds at work here!

A huge thank you to everyone who’s supported me through this experience.  I’m grateful to have made it this far but I’d be lying if I said I’m satisfied with my journey ending here.  I can’t see myself doing anything else for the next year of my life—this it IT!

I hope everyone enjoyed getting to know me through my blogs and videos, and learned a little something along the way!

TTFN—Ta Ta For Now,

Kaylie
