Alli's current situation:

My name is Alli Steven and in the fall I will be attending Lambton College for Early Childhood Education.

Alli's blog post:

"When it comes time to make a decision about your future, make sure that you choose something that YOU want to do, not what everyone else wants you to do." This is a quote that my father has told me many times about college. Last Fall I was enrolled at Mohawk College, after three weeks of being there I found out two things.

  1. That this was the wrong program for me and
  2. I felt that I was to young to be going off to school so soon.

Being seventeen and having to make a decision about your entire future is a lot of pressure. You have to choose what you want to do for the rest of your life and hope that it's going to make you happy. Instead of wasting any more of my time, and my parents money, I came home and enrolled back into high school. To now be eighteen and be back in high school felt weird but also felt right. I got to take classes I had never taken before and became closer friends with people that I hadn't really gotten to know throughout my previous high school years.

Now I feel like a changed person, I know what I want to do in life, how I want to handle my life and most of all something that will make ME happy. So just remember when it comes to making life decisions take a deep breath, sit back in a comfy chair and just think for yourself. You have the power to choose what you want to do so why not be anything you want to be?
