Marina's current situation:

As of right now, I am a student attending my last year of high school. I am Marina Todorovic, I'm 18 years old living at home with my mom. I am currently working at 4 Points hotel, I am a "housekeeper", aka I clean the rooms after people check out if you didn't know that. I am very involved with everything, I can be really busy. Some things I am involved in are; Volleyball, Track and Field, Dance Company, Safe schools drama production, Grad Committee President, Recycling Club, Fringe Festival, Science Olympics, the list can go on and on if you see where I am getting at. Not only the extracurricular activities I also have my school work and a job. I love to be doing things. My plan was to go to college for radiation but my heart told me to go into a different venue, so I followed my heart, my passion. Somehow this is part of my life's path's that I must take. So my situation right now is living at home, about to finish school, not making a diff erence in the world that I feel that I could be doing in some other way and hopefully this could be it. I feel that I could make a great mark in this world.

What the Future Holds for My Generation

What I think the future holds for my generation. We all know that no one can see the future, some people wish they could, I know I do. But that is the point No one knows what the future holds, but you can start by preparing for it, in different ways. From money, to life plans, and changing the things you do today will help you in a better tomorrow for everyone.

Starting us off is money, a great way for my generation to be ready for the future. If you start a savings account or if your parents started one for you, it’s a great way to begin. If you’re saving money to go away to college or university, or move out when you graduate high school, it’s always great to open both a chequings and savings account. Every time you get paid have your bank or your mother, sister etc. take out the same amount and put it where you can’t touch it. The problem with my generation, the parents pay for everything. The kids of today don’t have much practice for budgeting things. As for me I’ve been working since I was 14yrs. And I was babysitting before that. My motto is: better save then spend because you’re safe at the end.

So you start with saving, the next plan is to figure out your life plan. You won’t be able to figure it out to every last minute, just get a good idea what you’re going to do and where you’re going to go because it gives our generation on having a successful future. The trick is when you know what you’re doing, you know how much you need to save and you know what you need to do to get there. You will eventually get there. When you don’t plan, you don’t fail, you just don’t get exactly what you wanted.

So the next and last step to make my generations future brighter is to change the things we do, our bad habits, we do today so we have a better tomorrow, not just for you, nor I, for everyone. By recycling, being better people, nice to strangers, not spending money 24/7, by saving it. Because if we keep going at this rate there will be no future for anyone. That might be a vast statement but, if we change our ways now, get the next few generations already thinking about their future. Who knows what the future has in store for us, untold happiness, it’s an unlimited imaginations and dreams. A great mystery and that is what the future is supposed to be, you can just try to plan for this rollercoaster ride called LIFE.
