Hey World! What’s Happening? I’m Amir Banihashemi a 23 year old student athlete from the University of Windsor and I am the BANK MAN!

Currently I’m finishing up my final semester at the U of W this fall I’ll be graduating with a degree in Economics.

When did I first hear about he this contest? I still remember the moment very vividly, as I was coming back from work my cousin’s came up to me and said “Amir we got a perfect job you can apply for!”, and once they started to explain what they had heard about earlier in the day at the Kingsville Credit Union I was hooked.

Why would I be a good spokesperson?

• Vice Chair and organizer of Dining for Diabetes, an annual fundraising gala that was started in 2005 and has raised over $60,000 towards diabetes research and awareness.
• Member of Lancer’s Men’s Varsity Soccer
• Coaching Under 14 Boys soccer club
• Founder of www.Yogafordaycares.com, which is an entrepreneurial venture that promotes yoga games for kids to stay fit and active. 
• Lived and network in Ottawa, GTA (North York), Kingsville and Windsor
• CANfit pro (PTS) Certified Personal Trainer 
• Yoga Alliance certified (Level One)

All of these accolades above have contributed immensely to building my character and leadership skills necessary to be a Young and Free Spokesperson

When I came to Canada at the age of 5 life was a lot different for me. Escaping violence, injustice and war, Canada seemed surreal. Freedom felt like sand in your hand, you can hold it but it will eventually slip out.

Going through many challenges in tough neighborhoods, I’ve learned to appreciate freedom, friends and family.

For me a spokesperson for the young and free must not only fit the criteria, but must go upon and beyond as a leader. You need to be different and have certain qualities that people respect and admire such as charisma, humility and honesty.

Social network was popularized by visionaries and today is utilized by a majority of the youth. Those very visionaries possess the same qualities that a spokesperson need to be successful not just a popular face in the online community!

We can all blog or vlog and add a bunch of friends on Facebook but can we all be effective, the answer is NO.

There’s a difference between winning a contest or election yet another story in trying to be and effective spokesperson and educating the youth about our United Credit Unions!
