Please describe what you are up to (this will be used as the introduction to your blog post): I have just returned from studying abroad for a trimester in New Zealand. I am currently at the University of Windsor, entering my fourth year of Criminology in the fall. With a wide variety of interests, I am hoping to begin flight school next year so I can pursue my dream of becoming a pilot. I am constantly trying and learning new things daily. At the moment, I am starting to learn Mandarin, how to draw, and am reading up on quantum physics. My biggest goal has been to try everything life has to offer. Check out my blog at saramonk.blogspot.com for my list of things I plan on doing, and to see what I've accomplished so far!
Sara's blog post:
I have thought about what I could write about for some time, and I've decided that finding your inspiration in life is something very important to me. Whenever I become inspired I end up accomplishing so many different things, that I could have thought impossible at one time. Throughout my life I have been encouraged to follow my heart and to not let anything hold me back. I've learned the world represents opportunity, and we must seize the chances that emerge. The more experiences we encounter, the more open-minded we become, and the better we learn to accept change.
The saying "We can do anything we put our minds to" is partially correct. I believe it should be modified to Inspiration allows us to do anything we put our minds to, so find that inspiration. Inspiration can strike us at any moment. This is why I always carry paper and a pen everywhere. It's important that when we discover our talents and passions that we follow them through. Never let something keep you away from your dreams. Life is a blank canvas, we are the ones who create the picture as we move forward. I know that life is full of obstacles, but there are always ways to overcome them. How can we say that we've experienced life, unless we go out and see what it has to offer us.
Experiencing something is different from reading or hearing about it. Life is a learning experience, if we continue moving forward without taking the time for a breather, then we are making ourselves blind to the world. See the world from a different perspective; stand on top of a mountain or building and appreciate the view. Take the time every week to try something new; whether it be trying new food or skydiving. As the saying goes "life is trying things to see if they work". It is true that our experiences help define who we are. The motto I choose the live by is: where inspiration is found, nothing is impossible. As Thoreau put it: "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you imagined".
That is all for now, but I hope to make a difference for at least one person out there.
