MY VIDEO TAKES A GOOD MINUTE TO START STAY WITH IT!!!!!
Im Nicole Coffman (or coley). Im a 22 year old student at the University of Windsor as a communications, film and media major. I try to volunteer to at least one organization a year recentlyI Have planned events for a charity organization I was on the board for OPIRG (a burlesque show and a LGBTQIA prom). I was the undergrad student representative for my major. I had my first film in a festival. I enjoy writing scripts, novels, and poetry. I am learning to play the accordian. I bake and cook for my friends and family extensively as well! I hope to experience a whole new set of things this year like being a spokesperson for starters (and getting my drivers licence by augest 1st !) thank you young and free for motivating my to burn rubber (dont speed kidding)
I live by the philosophy that strangers are just friends I havent yet met!
Nicole's blog post:
I want to rock your financial world! I want to inform you and learn things myself. I want to break free... okay so that one was really queen who said that. But I agree young and free doesn't mean poor, unresourceful, and uninformed and I will prove it!
now that aside here is a blog by yours truly..
My piggy bank is looking awfully skinny these days (summer on a budget)
My summer savings have unexpectedly dried with the sun drenched grass in my backyard (that I need to cut btw!). This is the real world and things happen. I went on a toronto trip to see the first movie I worked on premiere, I owed my university 400 dollars unexpectidly , Im saving a few dollars to pay for my drivers test its time to get my license and really be young and free. the carnival just left town the ski ball slot took my last summer penny with it. I'm between jobs and halfway done my university degree. So until I fill my proverbial money trough with nourishing greens I need to find a way to enjoy my few months off of school on practically nothing.
So from this experience here is a few tips for you
- movie nights/sleepovers. call your friends suggest a theme or ask them if they have some must see you missed. Everyone likes to be the one who showed you your next favourite movie obsession. The best part of summers off air conditioner, friends without study notes, and rotting your brain watching movies.
- Picnic potlucks. You get to enjoy the sun, work on your tan eat a ton of really good and mostly healthy food on a fraction of the cost of ordering in or tipping a waiter (bless them hard workers though!) and see your crew. Bring instruments and sport equipment and that can nix your gym membership that is normally free in the school year.
- thrift stores and clothing swaps. August humidity is no ones friend especially your wardrobes. Like me in August I crave new clothes that are cottons and light but I cant afford the mall, or boutiques. Me and my friends get the word out to the community to come bring decent clothes, shoes and accessories to a location and refresh our wardrobe and get rid of old things. P.S the value village in london is full of great scores.
So there it is entertainment, food, exercise, socializing, and style all on basically nothing!
