Jill current situation:

I graduated Conestoga College with my Business Administration – Accounting diploma, and have since got a job at a Credit Union, where I have been working the last 2 years.  I am now working as a Mortgage Administrator for 4 days a week, as well as 1 day a week in the Risk Management department.  On the weekends I work part-time as a waitress at a small family restaurant.   I also really enjoy volunteering and I volunteer on a regular basis in my community.  Through my Credit Union last summer, I was given the opportunity to become a facilitator at CYL.  It was an amazing opportunity, where I not only taught youth participants about leadership, co-ops and credit unions, the participants also taught me a few things about life as well.

Jill's blog post:

If you could do anything in the world… what would you do?

Graduate High School, College or University. Buy a car. Meet your soul mate. Fly. Find your ultimate job. Get Married. Walk on the moon.  Move out.  Live to be 100 years old.  Have children.  Travel the world.  Win the lottery.

Above is a short list of dreams… some you may share, some you may not.  But I am sure that you have big dreams of your own.  I believe that some dreams are within grasp and some are extreme, but all achievable (maybe with the exception of winning the lottery).

The definition of dream is any of the following:

  • A series of mental images and emotions occurring during sleep
  • Imaginative thoughts indulged in while awake
  • Ambition: a cherished desire
  • Someone or something wonderful
  • What are your dreams?  What do dreams mean to you?

I believe that if you have faith in yourself, you are capable to do anything.  No dream is too small.... and as you accomplish your dreams, you will continue to dream more incredible dreams, each one even bigger than the last.  You will become a stronger, healthier and surprisingly improved person.  You will see and feel the difference each dream makes and others will notice too.

Achieving dreams is sometimes easier than we expect, but usually it does take a lot of time and effort.  We experience many emotions along the way.  Different experiences help equip us along the way of achieving our dream. Think of everyone that has helped you achieve your dreams throughout your life… your family, friends, teachers, bosses, and even strangers or acquaintances.  But most importantly yourself!  Without you and your dream, there would be no inspiration or desire to make a difference.  And think of everyone that has inspired you and everyone that you have made an impact on.

Thinking about what life really holds for you.  We all dream and I truly believe that we can accomplish anything we dream of.  Dreams are important.  We need to follow them… and once we start accomplishing our dreams, we only dream of bigger and better things.   Once your dreams become reality- you can continue to dream extraordinarily, making this world a better place.

Dream Big, believe in yourself, and believe in others.  The world is a great place, and it holds lots of opportunities for you.  Take time to dream and make a difference, because we are the youth that is going to shape this world!
