Judith current situation:
Hi! My name is Judith Grieve and I want to be the first ever Young & Free Ontario Spokesperson.
I have always said if there is a job that requires you to talk and get paid than that is the job for me!
Here are some fun facts to help you get to know me better.
- I am the youngest of 6 kids (and no that does NOT mean I am spoiled)
- I worked at 106.9 the X here in London as a reporter doing news, sports, and weather
- I was the Public Relations and Promotions Assistant for Fanshawe College Athletics
- I hosted live sports coverage for the Western Mustangs on Rogers TV. Go Mustangs!!
- I have completed 5 different internships at radio stations all over Ontario including my most recent venture working on the Health & Home segment at ‘A’ News London.
- I am currently a server at a pub downtown London, but only until I make it big!
I definitely have a lot of transferable experience that I could invest into this job. Please take some time to read my blog and vote for my video!

Paste your application blog post: What season are you in???
There are plenty of seasons out there. I am referring to the seasons in life. Kids 12 and under eat free, and ages 55+ generally get a seniors’ discount, but what about us, the 25 and under crowd? In my time, I have learned that every season in life has incredible opportunities; the problem is that most of us in this age group seem to want to just get to the next step, or move to the next season. Look at it as an investment. We need to be investing our time.
Pre-season, regular season, post-season, off-season, Soccer season, Basketball season, you can always tell when its playoff time in Hockey season because every man who even thinks he can grow facial hair attempts a dirty playoff beard. There are seasons we all absolutely love like the Holiday season, and some that we just can’t stand, like exam season, and let’s not forget the dreaded cold and flu season. The seasons are constantly changing outdoors too; here in Ontario you can always recognize the changing of the seasons because the ladies pull out their colorful scarves and UGG boots to signify that fall is here and school is back in session. Regardless of whether or not it’s a change in the temperature outdoors, a new season of American Idol or your other favorite addictive show on TV it is inevitable that the seasons in our lives are constantly influx.
Let me break this down for you...any hockey fans out there? What would have happened this year if the Chicago Blackhawks said, "Hey NHL, yes we have decided we are going to sit the 2009-2010 season out, we don’t really need a chance at the Stanley Cup.”
Could you imagine? We would have some very happy Flyers fans on our hands. If the Blackhawks would have skipped this season they would have missed out on one of the most life-changing experiences for most of the members of the team to date!
On a similar note many of you have probably said a few of the following statements:
- “I just can’t wait to graduate High School”
- “I can’t wait to be 18 so I can vote”
- “I can’t wait to turn 21 so I can go to Vegas!!”
Others are simply waiting impatiently to graduate from University or College. It is great to think ahead and plan ahead, but the thing we tend to forget is that in every season of life there is something exciting for us to learn, or to experience.
Don’t try to speed through or skip a time in your life that is full of fantastic opportunities to grow and learn as a thriving young adult. Also remember that some of the best opportunities come when you least expect them.
Back to the question I asked at the beginning of my blog, what do we get as the 18-25 crowd? We get to take chances, learn to be self sufficient, responsible, and we are the unique group that is allowed to make mistakes. Oh, and did I mention access to the Go Free Bundle™?
Carpe diem,
Judith
